Men I absolutely Love Them, however........

Ralph Nader.......who?

Ralph Nader needs to take a long nap.

KNOW WHAT POWER IS

Double Negative

Ok, I have been busy lately during the week with work (started a new job). It has the most intensive training program that I have ever been involved in. I am not sure what that is about, but stay tuned and we'll both find out.

I am not sure if it was the eclipse that took place on Wednesday or is it just the men in California. Somebody please tell me 'cause I am confused. Why say you are going to do something and don't. What's wrong with communicating that you don;t want to do something. Let me tell you I had two engagements to meet people,(men of course) and they like totally flaked. Was it the weather? I understand flaking,( I am the master), but I always come with some lame excuse as to why,I never leave someone high and dry. Even though I was with girlfriends, I just did not understand the purpose of it all. Then I began to think what my relationship was with these people. They both were former loves/lovers/super X's/friends with benefits, whatever you want to call it. I may have hurt these men a some point, told them the truth, or they have girlfriends, or something, I am not sure, but whatever the case, even a lame excuse would have been appropriate. I don't know. And the more that I think about it, the more I don't care.

This reminds me of something my dear young friend told me, when a man is not able to communicate the most simple things, and the things that are on his mind and how he feels, especially to something as sweet as a woman, then he is not ready to be a man. He was only 27 years old. Big up Criss! You are waaaaay ahead of the game.

This is also a "note to self" as well. Leave the past behind, let it go, do not revisit.

Blah, Blah, Blah....

I really did not have much to say today. I am going through one of the most amazing transitions an human can go through, and it is the most exciting time of my life. This is the part of myself that I hold close to myself.(Ya' know you can not tell people everything, just enough, so they think they know...heheheh).

Anyway, here it is again, the weekend is upon us, and I have few things planned. I hope I get to do them all. I am looking forward to hanging out in Oakland this weekend. Haven't really did that since I've been back, with the 8 murders in 2 days and all, it makes a girl rethink the company she keeps. I am really looking forward to hanging with some new people I know and feeling that "love" vibe.

This weekend will be about letting go of the old and bringing in the new. As Obama would say, It's all about change. So to that ole' love that helped me get back on track, thanks, I am on track there is really no more use for you. I am good for atleast 2 months. To that fool from the east coast, did somebody tell you you were fine!. You would be considered average in Cali. Which means on a scale of 1-10, you are a 5.5-6 Okaaay! Sorry you're old news. It's also time to upgrade other areas in my life, I do not want to offend too many other people, but if you don't see me, you know who you are...deuces! (Ok. that may have been harsh, but who cares, it's my world!). And if you don't know, please ask someone.

Loving me unconditionallly!!!!!!

The Grammy's...how nice

I remember watching the Grammy's as a child and being totally into the artist and knowing that one day that I was going to walk that red carpet and mingle with the celebrities. I am so into music and loved the idea that every year my favorite artists were able to walk away with something that confrimed their greatness. They would accept their awards with grace and thank the fans and move on and do whatever the night called for. My, have things changed.

We have men like Kanye West, who even in the mist of victory complains, his arrogance is unbearable. Personally, I cannot stand a man who nags like a little bitch. Sex with him must be very systematic and contrived, or she just beats his ass and tells him to shutup! Either way, Kanye makes it a point to strangle the mic with his complaints everytime he is on the podium. Grandstanding at it's best! At first, he spoke the truth and I was on his team but now he is just real boring. Do something original and just say thank you. How important is it that you proclaim how great you are? And who cares? Just know and understand nothing lasts forever, enjoy where you are right now, time changes everything.

The performace with Beyonce and Tina Turner was great! There is nothing that I enjoy more than an artist that can make an impact at any age. Tina is an legend and I still love her, a woman that is timeless, I can not say enough about her attitude and her longevity, except that black don't crack! Beyonce on the other hand, I am just over her over performing and her having the energy of a energizer bunny on crack. Part of being a great artist is knowing your place when a legend is in your presence. There is no need to out perform the legend. Here is a little advice, stop dressing up like a fairy princess or something. The blond streaks and teasing of the hair is quite out dated. Grow into your womanhood, no one wants to fuck tinkerbell forever. Take some notes from Rhianna and change your style.

I also enjoyed Herbie Hancock and his ensemble winning the best album of the year that was just perfect, music at it's greatest. Cyndi Lauper, another one of my favorites was also looking fabulous at fifty-something. Timeless and memorable. A new artist that I have loved since she first appeared is Amy Winehouse, the woman is the most creative and tormented artist that have come along in a long time. Its funny how the more demons you have to deal with the more famous you are. Her lyrics are a true indication of her pain, but she also speaks the truth about matters of the heart and tainted love. I am glad she was able to walk away with a few Grammy's.

Although I did not get the excitement I used to as a child about the Grammy's, it was entertaining and a joy to watch along with my daughter. Sharing with her the history of artist such as Cyndi Lauper, Herbie Hancock and Tina Turner was a joy. An honorable mention to Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis, nice to watch but for some reason the older men were not as exciting to watch as the older women. I shared with my daughter how hip-hop was not even a category a few years ago. It has made it's way to the mainstream and the only new kind of music that has been created since the Grammy's started. That says a lot about who we are as a people and how resilient, creative and strong we are. Know your culture, know your music.

Super Bowl Madness!!

Wow, is all I can say. My weekend was very exciting and a great welcome back to the bay!
I know that I am a few days late on sharing this with you, but I have been a bit under the weather. I can not seem to shake this shit!. It did not stopped me from dating and partying on SuperBowl weekend. I can not say enough about the fun that I had. I must say that we are all in control of our happiness. No one else can control the level of your happiness, unnless we give them that control. State your claim, and celebrate your life.

My friends and family had so much fun at this spot in Concord Friday night, that we went back Saturday and had a even better time. To the bodyguard who smacked my ass, hey I was not that drunk. You got a freebie! Thank you to the man from Senegal, who also showed up the second night. Lawd! was he a vision, a smile that lit up the night. I would also like to thank your parents. Dinner is definitely in stow.!

I had so many things planned for that weekend, but the flakers faked and the real ones came through! Thats how it always is and I enjoyed every minute.
Oh and to that long time secret love that I ended the weekend with, thank you. You're just too sweet. Many Smooches!!!

Hanging out with the married folks was not too bad. It was great to be around happily married people(Or the appearance of..who knows). It makes me feel that there is hope for those who just hang in there, marriage is work. It's also important to be friends as well as lovers. Never stop dating each other. One day when I have the time, I'll fit that in my schedule. I can't help but enjoy where I am right now.....lol. They come in so many flavors, too bad you can only marry one.

Ok, I have things to do today, just wanted to catch up. I am still writing my book, it's coming along. I am in a clear and happy place. Please join me.

TGIF! WhoooAhhhhhh!

Yes, it's the weekend.

There are a lot of things going on, but the party will be where ever I am. I've gotten in touch with a few old friends and they are as excited about getting together as I am. Yes, it's me, living everyday like it's my last. I can not help it. I was born to be wild! but in a nice conservative kind of way...lol.

Considering that just the other day I was in the hospital for a major migraine, I thought my brain was going to explode! (Thank you sis for being there:). I would tellyou about the expereince, but I do not remember much of it. It was the worst migraine I have had and I probably should get my brains checked out. I know I am a little crazy, but just how crazy is the question at hand....lol.

Anyway, this is also Super Bowl weekend, and being that I love football, I won't be out where the boys are, I am going to go to my brother's and hang out with the married folks. That should be fun!

I am outta here!
